The University of Mind Goalies of the Month for December 2024
We are incredibly proud to celebrate three of our clients who are representing Team Canada on the international stage! Their hard work, determination, and excellence in goaltending have earned them this well-deserved recognition.
Carter George - Owen Sound Attack (OHL) / Team Canada U20 IIHF
Carter George made headlines representing Team Canada in the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship. In his first two starts, he posted back-to-back shutouts against Team Finland and Team Germany, demonstrating his composure under pressure on one of the biggest stages in hockey.
Speaking on George's poise, TSN Analyst, Craig Button, said "He is so good. That guy is not only gifted athletically [and] technically, but he's got a mind where he's so defiant and I think that's a great quality for a goaltender". With a current record of 2-1-0 in the tournament, Carter is playing a pivotal role in Canada’s pursuit of the Gold Medal. Team Canada plays Czechia next at 7:30pm EST on January 2nd in the quarter-final game.
Dylan Ferguson - Iowa Wild (AHL) / Team Canada 2024 Spengler Cup
Dylan Ferguson’s outstanding play with the Iowa Wild this season earned him a spot on Team Canada at the 2024 Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland. His consistency, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure have made him a reliable presence in the crease and a natural fit to represent his country.
Carson Bjarnason - Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL) / Team Canada U20 IIHF
Carson Bjarnason’s remarkable performances with the Brandon Wheat Kings have led to his inclusion on Team Canada for the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship. His sharp reflexes and composure have been the backbone of his team, and now he brings that same determination to the international stage.
These three goaltenders exemplify the commitment, focus, and passion it takes to excel at the highest level. Their achievements inspire us and remind us of the impact that dedication and mindset can have on success.
